Meet The Team

Founder & Editor

Michaela Miller

I created Cocoa & Coconut to build the kind of Caribbean publication I longed to see — thoughtful, beautiful, culturally rooted and expansive.

Through journalism, storytelling and community, I want this space to honour Caribbean women and the stories too often overlooked.

Favourite island indulgence I could have forever?

Saltfish and johnny cakes… without question.

Journalism. Essays. Business stories. Real lives. Lived experiences.

We’re looking for thoughtful, well-told stories rooted in Caribbean life across the region and throughout the diaspora.

Pitch us reported features, personal essays, interviews, cultural commentary and stories exploring business, work, identity, migration, womanhood, relationships, community and everyday Caribbean life.

We want stories with depth, honesty and a clear point of view. Stories that inform us, challenge us, move us or help us see Caribbean people and experiences more fully.

Have a story worth telling? Pitch it to Cocoa & Coconut.
