From Hobby to Healing – by Lisa Wilson

“I didn’t start this as a business.
I started it as a hobby.”

What started as a hobby became something far greater – a purpose rooted in helping others feel confident in their own skin.

I didn’t start this as a business. I started it as a hobby — something fun, something creative, something just for me. At the time, I wasn’t thinking about entrepreneurship or building a brand. I just wanted an outlet. But as I continued, something began to shift. People started coming to me — not just out of curiosity, but because they were struggling. I met individuals dealing with eczema, acne, and dark marks. Many of them had already tried different products that didn’t work, and they were looking for something more natural. They decided to try mine. And then something happened that changed everything for me. They came back. Not just to buy again, but to tell me, “It’s working.” Some of them even showed me their results. That was the moment I realized this was bigger than a hobby. I wasn’t just making products — I was helping people feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin.

That’s when my mindset changed. Building Something With Purpose.

My brand, London’s Natural, wasn’t built just to make money. It came from passion. What started as something small quickly turned into a mission — to help people find solutions to their skin concerns in a way that feels natural, personal, and trustworthy. I take pride in the care I put into what I do. I don’t see my clients as just customers — I see them as people trusting me with something personal. That’s why I focus on giving each person attention and results they can actually see.

The Challenges Behind the Growth

The journey hasn’t been easy. One of my biggest challenges was simply putting myself out there. I’m naturally shy, and promoting my business meant stepping outside of my comfort zone in ways I wasn’t used to. Talking to people, showing up at pop-ups, sharing what I do — all of it felt intimidating at first. But I took it one step at a time.

Over time, I started to grow in confidence. Each conversation, each interaction, each small win helped me become more comfortable in spaces that once felt overwhelming. Another challenge was sourcing ingredients. Not everything I needed was always available, which meant I had to be flexible and find ways to work around those limitations without compromising the quality of my products. It taught me resilience — and how to keep going, even when things weren’t easy.

The Moment I Felt Proud

If I had to choose one moment that stands out, it wouldn’t be a single event — it would be the journey itself. Turning something I started as a hobby into something meaningful has been my proudest achievement. But more than that, it’s the people. Seeing my clients happy. Seeing their confidence grow. Knowing they trust me with their skin and their care — that’s what makes everything worth it.

Looking Ahead

My vision for London’s Natural is to grow into a trusted household name — a brand that people naturally turn to when they think about skincare.

In the next one to two years, I want to expand beyond my local reach by shipping overseas and making my products more accessible. I also hope to see my products in supermarkets, reaching even more people who are looking for solutions that work. But no matter how much the brand grows, one thing will always stay the same:

The heart behind it.

Because It Started With Passion. I didn’t plan this. I didn’t map it all out. I simply followed something I loved — and it led me here. And now, I’m building something that not only means something to me…

but makes a difference in the lives of others.
